Halloween flags are one of the easiest and budget-friendly ways to transform a house for Halloween and they really look great – especially ours!
There are so many different ways to decorate for Halloween and you can DIY so many decorations, saving you a ton of money and giving you a fun Halloween activity to do with the family.
One of my favorite parts of Halloween is decorating the house with the kids and it is so great getting them involved with the styling. Halloween is the perfect time of year to get creative and have tons of spooky fun!
We have three different styles of Halloween Flags that you can use to create fun Halloween crafts and get really creative this year.
Blank Halloween Flags
One of my favorite ways of getting the kids involved with decorating for Halloween is by letting them create their own Halloween banner flags and they love it!
The best part of all of this is seeing how proud they are to see their creations hanging up around the house. It’s such a great moment and is perfect for getting the kids involved with decorating the home at any age.
As well as using these free printable blank Halloween flags, they are also a great activity for groups and classrooms. If you are a teacher or run a playgroup, feel free to use these free Halloween flags in your class.
We’ve created a range of blank Halloween flags in a range of colors. The great thing about having different colors is you can get really creative with what you create.
We have a mix of solid color flags and ombre colored flags in both our traditional style and triangle style.
Here are a few ideas on how to use the different colored flags.
- White Halloween flag – The white flag makes it easy to draw anything you like, color however you want, and works great for skulls and skeletons!
- Black Halloween flag – Decorating black flags is a great way to get creative! Use neon pens, chalks, and white gel pens! Great for black cats and bats, and super neon monsters!
- Orange Halloween flag – Orange is the Halloween color! The orange Halloween flags are great for drawing pumpkins on and writing big spooky letters!
- Green Halloween flag – The green flags are perfect for drawing witches or zombies!
- Purple Halloween flags – Purple is another great Halloween color! Monsters and haunted houses look great in purple!
- Red Halloween flags -Use the red Halloween flag to create super scary faces and ghastly ghouls!
- Ombre Halloween flags – Our ombre flags is great for adding an atmosphere to your decor! You can use these flags to create spaces in your message or simply as a cool spooky decoration!

Pattern Halloween Flags

Fun Halloween Flags
These Halloween flags were so fun to create and I even had some input from my daughter! She’s particularly excited about Halloween this year because she’s looking forward to decorating with our free printable Halloween flags!

How to hang your banner flags
When it comes to printing your own bunting or banner, you might be a little confused about how to hang it or display it.
We have three options for displaying your bunting that all are really easy and look great.
Take a look at our image guide below for help in hanging your banner flags.
Stick it
You can simply cut your banner out, add double-sided sticky tape to the back and position your banner on the wall. Doing this allows you to display the banner in any way and angle them to suit your style.
Thread it
A more obvious way and more traditional way of hanging your banner is by using thread, rope, string, or whatever else.
Simply punch two holes in either side of the banner page and thread through, weaving in and out of your pages until your entire banner is suspended.
I find threading from the front is a better option as it hides the majority of the thread.
Fold it
If you want to hide the thread completely like banners you purchase from a store then use the fold method.
- Cut around the banner but leave the top part of the paper intact (so your banner is longer and there is a white margin).
- Fold the white part of the paper behind so you can’t see it from the front.
- Flip the paper over and add your string under the fold. Glue down the fold.
- Now your banner is hanging with thread like a traditional banner but the thread is hidden.
These methods are such an easy way to display your banner or bunting.
